  • Develop a deep understanding of the history, philosophy, anatomic theories and fundamentals of Barre
  • Gain extensive knowledge on the various Barre series that targets different muscle groups for a safe and impactful practice
  • Learn how to use props like weights and exercise balls to elevate the effectiveness of your practice 
  • Master the art of conducting inclusive, impactful and safe classes for your students of all ages, levels and body type

Dates: 28 – 30 June (Fri – Sun)
Time: 0900 to 1800
Course structure: 24hrs in-class time, 10hrs class observation, 1hr assignment

  • History, philosophy and fundamentals of Barre
  • Study of neutral posture and planes of motion
  • Importance of warm up
  • Study of the skeletal and muscular systems and its relevance in Barre practice
  • Study of the human movement and biomechanics and the role they play in ensuring a safe practice
  • In-depth study of the various barre series for different muscles groups (back, triceps, biceps, chest, leg, gluteus, gluteus side, core & more)
  • Learn the different modifications to teach pregnant and new mothers clients, helping them in their pre- and post-natal periods (strengthening core, hip, gluteus & more)
  • Inclusive teaching of Barre (modifications, variations) to inspire and empower people of different ages, fitness levels and body types to practise Barre for better wellbeing
  • Effective teaching techniques (verbal cues, demonstration, playlist, ballet terms, etc…)
  • Impactful and creative sequencing & layering to meet your students’ various needs
  • The art of effective assisting and adjusting

Meet Michelle, a former corporate professional whose love for ballet, modern jazz, and Latin dance led her to a new chapter in life.

Seeking a creative outlet in music and movement, she stumbled upon Barre – the perfect fusion of her passions.

Having found her calling in Barre, Michelle took the leap to become a certified instructor. This decision, she believes, is one of the best in her life. Now, as a Barre instructor, she not only shares her Barre knowledge but also radiates the joy of living her passion.
